COURSE DESCRIPTION
NCAA Eligible Course
In German I, students are introduced to the basic and fundamental skills necessary for expressing common ideas in the German language. They learn to state daily activities and how to have an introductory conversation. These concepts build in theme and scope, allowing students to explore topics including daily activities, travel, needs, desires, and preferences in typical and increasingly complex situations. The course provides a realistic context in which students can practice their newly acquired skills. German I also provides a considerably thorough study of grammatical skills, ranging from the most basic sentences to engaging and creative structures dealing with more interesting situations.

TEACHER SERVICES
All course teachers are certified, subject-area content experts. The teacher will grade student assessments and provide detailed feedback. Progress monitoring and supplemental material will be provided by the teacher as needed.

Auto-graded courses are self-paced, multimodal, and standards-aligned. Students progress independently and are assessed frequently through weekly checkpoints and Mastery Assessments. Upon submission of assessments, students receive immediate answers and feedback and can mark completion of work via a completion button in the learning management system. These courses allow students to work at their own pace and spend necessary time on course content to ensure mastery.
